Round Table Conversation: Mandatory Fire Sprinklers in One- and Two- Family Dwellings

Description

For 15 years BIA Hawaii has successfully defending housing affordability by keeping fire sprinklers optional in one- and two-family dwellings. HRS 46-19.8 prohibits Counties from adopting building codes that include mandatory fire sprinklers in one- and two- family homes. 

This law will sunset on June 30, 2027.
