DESCRIPTION:For 15 years BIA Hawaii has successfully defending housing affordability by keeping fire sprinklers optional in one- and two-family dwellings. HRS 46-19.8 prohibits Counties from adopting building codes that include mandatory fire sprinklers in one- and two- family homes. \n\n\n\nThis law will sunset on June 30\, 2027. \n\n\n\nIf you want to keep sprinklers optional we need your involvement and support.
