Disaster Response & Preparedness Training - Rota

The Disaster Response and Preparedness Training Program focuses on helping first responders, employers, employees, workers, contractors and volunteers who may have limited safety training and/or experience to identify, evaluate and control the health and safety hazards that may be present during rescue and remediation phases during disaster recovery.

This program is designed to increase and improve knowledge, skills and access to valuable resources and establish planning processes to help prevent injury and illness during disaster recovery operations.

TOPICS:

The program addresses the multitude of safety and health concerns that may be present in the unstable environment of recovery work sites.  During the Disaster Response and Preparedness Training Program, participants will gain the knowledge and basic skills to:

1.    Disaster Preparation & Work Planning
2.    Understand the incident Response process
3.    Worker protection during high hazard and/or unique emergency operations.

Through the support of the Guam Small Business Development Center at the University of Guam, Jesus and Eugenia Leon Guerrero School of Business and Public Administration, and Guam Homeland Security/Office of Civil Defense, a Disaster Response & Preparedness Training will be held in Guam on January 14 & 15.
