Description
Aerial lifts are essential in construction, maintenance, and utility work—but they come with serious risks. This awareness-level course covers the basics of safe aerial lift use and meets OSHA’s training requirements under 1926.454.
Who Should Take This Course?
Anyone who operates or works near aerial lifts in roles such as:
- Construction
- Utility work
- Facility maintenance
- Tree trimming
- Window cleaning
- Painting
- Building inspections
- Fire and rescue
- Types and uses of aerial lifts
- OSHA safety requirements (1926.453, 1926.454)
- Common hazards: falls, tip-overs, electrocution, overhead contact
- Safe operating procedures and inspections
- Manufacturer safety guidelines
OSHA defines aerial lifts as vehicle-mounted devices used to elevate workers, including:
- Boom lifts (telescoping/articulating)
- Aerial ladders
- Vertical towers
- Combo units
OSHA requires aerial lift training to prevent injuries and ensure safe operations. This course builds the foundation for safe work practices and regulatory compliance.
